State of the Union

I have been at work all day and have yet to read the speech but I am going to guess a few things about the speech.

1. The State of the Union is strong
2. Iraqi's are taking the fight to the insurgency.
3. Jobs are being created due to Bush tax cuts and we need to make his tax cuts permanent.
4. America has not been hit since 9/11 due to Bush's "terrorist surveillance program"
5. Correta King tribute
6. We control all branch's of government and you don't, so ninni, ninni, boo, boo, my nominee for supreme court will be confirmed in spite of you.

I have figured out who has been running our country for the past 5 and 1/2 years. Rosco P. Coltrane and Boss Hog. What I really want to know is where are the Duke boys when we need them? Who is going to stop Boss Cheney and that nincompoop Bush? I think the Democrats need to learn how to work together to bring down Boss Cheney. Can anyone help me with the Duke family roles?

American Surveillance Program

"Terrorist Surveillance Program"






And there we have it, the catchy phrase for spying on Americans. I can guarantee that you will not hear a Republican or anyone on Fox news refer to Mr. Bush’s illegal wire taps as domestic spying again. The only thing you will hear is "terrorist surveillance program". It is taking the right wing longer and longer to come up with their frames. Who in their right mind would be against terrorist surveillance??? After all if Bush had been doing his job before 9/11 instead of vacationing every other week at the ranch, clearing all that brush, then maybe 9/11 would have never happened. I hope that the Democrats and all the middle of the road news organizations reject this new name. We need to continue to call a spade a spade. If we fall prey to using the right wing’s frames again we deserved to be spied on. We should just allow “big brother” to put a camera in every room of our houses to monitor us. After all if a terrorist comes to our house for dinner then George deserves to know what we were talking about.

Interventionist God

Why is it that everyone wants to drag God into their lives and circumstances? Why do we always have to show our faith by saying “God did this or God must have wanted that?” I am sick and tired of hearing how God sticks his nose into everyone lives. You can listen to the winning team of any game and you will undoubtedly hear that they want to thank God. I heard the QB of Ohio State thank God after the Fiesta Bowl win and knew that there was no way God was going to be able to make it to the Sago mine to help those poor miners. We all know George Bush thinks that God wanted him to be President during and after 9/11, that’s why the Supreme Court decided in his favor instead of voting for the person that the American people actually wanted. Mayor of New Orleans Ralph Nagin recently said, "Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country.” Yeah that’s it, God is mad at the world and that is why all these natural disasters are occurring. The tsunami, earthquake in Pakistan, hurricanes in the Gulf coast, all of these are God’s fault? I’m sure Peyton Manning woke up this morning wondering why his God had forsaken him. What does this seemingly angered God want? What do the winning teams do right and the losing teams do wrong? What is Europe doing right that other countries around the world are doing wrong? Maybe God just wants to be left out of everything. Maybe God wants us to look to him for comfort and strength and not just throw his name around. Maybe God wants a personal relationship and not to be an excuse or answer.

I think that if you want God to help you then by all means ask God to give you the strength to accomplish your goals. And if they are just goals then you will be able to summon up that little piece of God in all of us and accomplish them, but if they are selfish than just ask Satan and leave my God out of it. As for the natural disasters we had better start by treading lighter on this earth or Mother Nature is going to continue to give us reminders that we are just renting this place and she has our security deposit and eviction notice.

War on Terror or War that creates Terror?

3 children dead and we expect him to help us locate other terrorist. We are the terrorist in his mind.



Who do we think we are? Are our children, mothers and fathers more precious than other countries? Is there any wonder there is growing hatred in the Muslim world toward America? How does this air strike, which killed between 17-50 people, help in the war on terror? I thought Pakistan was on our side and was hunting down the terrorist in their country. Let’s say we did kill the number 2 in command with this strike, which is in question, do we believe that terrorism in the world is going to slow down? This war that will never end needs to stop. This war on terrorism is being used by the Bush administration to attack our civil liberties and kill innocent people based on sketchy intelligence. We have seen how good our intelligence is with the run up to the invasion of Iraq, it has left us in a quagmire of a war with no end in sight. Over 2,000 American soldiers dead, about 20,000 injured, an unknown number will be mentally strained for the rest of their lives, and between 30,000 and 100,000 innocent Iraqi’s dead and are we really any safer? ARE WE REALLY ANY SAFER?

A Haiku for you!

I thought rather than write a long diatribe about how Alito is Religious right’s and corporate America’s payment for getting Bush elected I would go minimalist and right you a couple Haiku.

Medicare Part D! Uuuuugggghhhh!

I am going to part from my normal rant about how our Republican controlled government and Mr. Bush is slowly killing the middle class to say that the new Medicare Part D (Drug Plan) is the biggest, fuck up of all time. It is a total fucking nightmare for me, my patients and everyone involved. I spent an hour and a half on the damn phone today just to try and get 1 patients prescriptions to go through. This was a Medicaid patient who the government was supposed to automatically sign up for a Medicare plan. Well guess what now her medicaid is cut off and she has no drug coverage at all and somehow has to come up with $376 dollars for just half of her presciptions. Finally after I told her that she had no coverage, she spent well over an hour on hold with Medicare just to find out the same thing. I want to thank every politician that voted for these horribly run plans. You may think that the government is to blame for this mess, but if the government was the one administering this plan I am sure it would not only cost the tax payers about half as much as it will now but I would not have had the awful day that I just had. There are over 100 different private companies all running multiple medicare rx drug plans, no that's not a recipe for disaster. My elderly patients have no idea who they are signed up with all they know is their elected officials told them they would have coverage today. I want to say FUCK EVERY POLITICIAN that voted for this nightmare. I never thought I would say this but, I wish after today that everyone in America would get their rx's filled in Canada. It's cheaper and their is only like a 10% chance of getting counterfeit drugs, at least you will have meds which is more than I can say for my customers today.

(Sorry for all the vulgarity but at least now I feel a little better that is until I go to work tomorrow)

Splitting Hairs

The president denied misleading the public during a 2004 appearance in support of the Patriot Act when he said: "Any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires _ a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so."

Bush said his comments _ two years after approving the NSA program _ applied to roving wiretaps the Patriot Act allows for law enforcement, not the kind of eavesdropping the agency does to collect intelligence.

The question is why did Bush bypass the Foreign Intellingence Surveillance Court??

This is a group of 11 federal judges that grant warrants in exactly these types of cases that Bush says he is using them.

Bush says timing is an issue. The law allows him 48 hours of surveillance when needed, that allows him time to get court approval.

It is obvious that Bush does not have any evidence to prove that the Americans he is wire tapping are terrorist. Or that the program is casting such a large net that no federal judge would approve the Bush administrations attack on Americans civil liberties.

Are we to believe that the Bush administration knows where terrorist are and they are not picking them up and sending them to torture chambers around the world for questioning?

Also notice the cut on Bush's head. He claims it was from cutting down brush on his ranch, but a source tells me Laura found out she was being wiretapped and slapped the shit out of him and caught him with her ring.

2006 is here. I guess I should have some resolutions. Although since most resolutions are never kept maybe I should give them a different name, ummmm, ummmmm, I think I will just say that I will continue to expose the falsehoods portrayed by the right-wing media (Fox News), the Bush administration and the those of the sleaze that is now in control of the Republican smear machine. I will talk about the corporate corruption that the Republicans are for and how they are destroying the middle class, and exploiting the poor in this country and around the world. I plan to continue to expose how the White House continues to attack anyone who opposes their views instead of just having an open debate. I think with this corrupt Republican congress and White House that should keep me busy for at least 3 more years.

Let’s start with some predictions.

The American people will almost wake up and oust the party in Power in Congress. It is a well known fact that American voters 99% of the time send back the incumbents. Everyone thinks Congress is doing a horrible job but their congressman is delivering the pork. The question is always how can we get rid of him or her, he/she has just gotten to a position of influence? And if you think the Republican smear machine is going to just roll over and take it in the elections ahead you have got to be kidding. Until the public rejects their agenda of “smears, fears, and queers” as Al Franken puts it, the Republican attack machine will continue to hit those buttons.

The Bush machine will continue to dismantle the only people who can put any check on the White House. No, I am not talking about the Democrats although they will continue to dismantle them as well. I am speaking about our press corps. It seems this started when Bush bought off columnist to put out Bush propaganda as their own thoughts. No one was punished for this breach of ethics. But things are about to get much worse with this new leak investigation that the Bush administration says they did not ask for, yeah right! The first leak investigation was legit. We needed to know who outed a covert CIA operative for political gain. This was despicable and illegal. Of course Bush flip-flopped on his pledge to kick anyone involved out of his administration until he realized it was his and Cheney’s right hand goons, Libby and Rove. This new leak investigation is a witch hunt and an attempt to squash any dissention or morals from invading the Bush administration. The person who leaked Bush’s illegal spying on Americans is a hero. Someone who knew Bush had crossed the line into an impeachable offense. Illegal behavior exposed, and what is the Bush response, attack the attacker. Do not try and justify why he did not follow procedures of going to the secret court for warrants, just keep ranting about terrorist and emboldening the enemy and keep yelling BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID, I AND MY POLICIES ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN PROTECT YOU. The answer is not to keep eliminating our civil liberties in the name of the war on terror; the answer is to keep promoting our civil liberties in the face of terrorist. If we want to show the terrorist they can not shake our way of life, what better way than to keep living with all our freedoms granted us by the Constitution.
