Things going great in Anbar!

I guess I will plan my next vacation now to Anbar. Bush has spoken and the security situation in Iraq is great. Now the political work can get done. It does not matter that the politicians in Iraq have been held up in the mostly secure Green Zone for years and have not accomplished anything.

We need to get the hell out of Iraq yesterday. We need to let these people figure out how to run their country on their own. Will people die? Yes. Will more people die than if we stay for 5 more years and then leave? No. This country is headed for a bloody civil war. It has already started and our troops are in the middle of it. Will Al Qaeda be a player in the countries civil war? I say no. They are the biggest bargaining chip the Sunnis hold. If it were not for us backing the Shiite's then the Sunnis would not have paired up with the foreign Al Qaeda fighters to begin with.

It is time for Democrats to quit compromising with this fucking administration. Just send him enough money to get our troops out safely. And when it is vetoed, send it back again. To hell with benchmarks and timetables, we have played politics with these peoples lives, our troops and Iraqis, long enough. It is time for America to stop trying to tell the rest of the world what to believe and how they should run their country.

The reason we are still there is because the politicians in Iraq have smartly not agreed to the Bush errrr Exxon Mobile oil law for their country. If they do pass this law then you can bet American troops will be there indefinitely protecting the pipelines. Another corporate give away to big oil. If big oil actually had to pay the true price to get to this oil and all the oil then America would long ago have found a clean energy solution for our energy thirst, but since big oil and coal are so subsidized they are the cheapest alternative. Yes we pay a cheaper price at the pump and on the monthly energy bills but we pay higher taxes that go to the oil companies and to the military to protect the supplies.

I wonder what the going rate for a vacation in Baghdad would cost these days? I tried to look up airline flights but unfortunately none were available at this time. I'm sure my IP address was put on a government watch list immediately and I may get a visit from Homeland Security in a month or so but that is the price of freedom these days at least so says the leaders in Washington.

The American people overwhelmingly want this war to end but when are we going to actually stand up and demand it? And if we did would it actually be reported?

You should check out the Anbar Best Western. I hear they have complimentary figs and an indoor waterpark.
