I guess I have chosen the candidate I am going to back for now. It was a toss up between he and Obama but I just do not think Obama can win. I really just want the field to be narrowed down ASAP so Hillary gets a run for her money. As long as the field is large it benefits her the most.

I'd still like to give Obama a shot. I think the areas of the country that he cannot win because he is black are the same areas he cannot win because he is a Democrat. I like Edwards alot - I was for him until he finally got out in 2004. But I like Obama's presence just a little more. I think they both are equally progressive and I'm not sure there is a major substantive difference between them on policy. I figure Obama is nearly a lock for the VP if anyone other than Hillary gets the nomination. I could definitely support an Edwards/Obama ticket.

For the first time since I registered to vote, the Democrats look like they have a stable of formidable candidates. Hell, even Al Gore is beginning to look like a winner (a rather rotund winner, but winner nonetheless). Plus, the competition isn't exactly stellar for the GOP this time. A mormon flip-flopper, a former maverick turned clumsy conservative and war hawk, a thrice divorced northeast liberal with no chance in the southern primaries, and a number of hardline conservatives destined to get no more than 40% of the popular vote (see Bob Dole, 1996). Of course, this is the Democratic Party - they could screw up a one car funeral...

If Gore ran I would be torn. I am still holding a bit of a grudge against him for not running in 2004. He won in 2000 and would have rid us of Bush in 2004.

It would be nice to vote for someone who has been right about everything for a change. I am sick and tired of the media continuing the attack that Gore is boring. Do you want a president who is intelligent, and able to make sound decisions based on facts, or one who seems like a regular Joe and pretty much is except for his narcissistic personality disorder?

Gore would be the heavy weight(no pun intended) that could stop the Hillary fundraising machine.

I do not think Obama can win even in other areas of the country. I base this on the gay marriage voting. You ask people face to face whether they think gays should be allowed the same rights as heterosexuals and it is 50/50, but any vote comes out overwhelmingly against 70/30.

I would like to think that America is ready, and America definitely needs to be ready, but are we? Deep down racism still exist here and I think it runs deeper than we want to believe.

If Barack is the right man for the job, but we Democrats deny him that nomination because we're afraid of him being a black candidate, then just who is racist?

Um, that would be us.

Okay, before this gets out of control. If Barack, and that is a big if, is the right man for the job then do we owe it to him to be the candidate?

I would give that question a resounding yes if he were the only candidate with the credentials. But don't we also owe it to ourselves to nominate someone who can win the general election all else being equal?

I guess you can call me a racist because I think Edwards and Obama are both quality candidates but think Edwards is more electable come the general election at this point in time.

To tell the truth, at this point I am for anyone but Hillary. Does that make me sexist? No but I am tired of corporate control of our politicians.

Unlike W. I am willing to change my mind up until my actual vote is cast and there is a long, long, long time until that happens. I promise to be well informed and fully educated on the choices before me and I will pick the best MAN (Ha) for the job.

I heard Barack is a Muslim fundamentalist on Fox News. Is that true? I did hear that but know it is a lie.

Sorry to disappoint you Iwanski, in not supporting your Senator at this point in time, but the field will be narrowed before the primary gets to New Mexico and Barack may be the only viable option left at that time.
